List of Wobbly Republicans

By Wendy Herman, TCOT Project Servant Leader

IT IS TIME FOR A FILIBUSTER!! These are the wobbly Republicans. We have had issues with reaching some of their offices, so we recommend faxes and phone calls to their state offices. That information is at the bottom of the page. Now is not the time to grow weary. We are making a difference. If you heard President Obama's speech last night or Harry Reid's from the Senate floor, you know we are VERY close to shutting this thing down. Please do what ever you can to bring about the demise of this bill.

"Hello, my name is __________, and I am a member of a conservative social media group called Top Conservatives on Twitter. Because this bill is too large and will be ineffective in boosting the economy, I'm calling today to ask the senator to filibuster this bill.  It is a poorly written piece of legislation, I don't like all the wasteful spending and the way it is being rushed to a vote is wrong. Please let Senator ______ know that I would like for him/her to NOT COMPROMISE, but lead the charge and defeat this bill with a filibuster."

To the Honorable Senator _________,

RE: FILIBUSTER

My name is ____________, and I am a member of a conservative social media group called Top Conservatives on Twitter. Because this bill is full of wasteful spending and will not effectively boost the economy, and will be more expensive than the Iraq and Afghanistan wars combined, I am writing today to ask you to NOT COMPROMISE, but kill this bill. It is a bill that is being marketed as an immediate response to a national emergency, but many economist have agreed that it will do nothing but prolong the recession. It is a poorly written bill that cannot be fixed. It must be defeated and started anew. I urge you to keep the country's best interest, and not the desires of liberal interest groups, in mind and defeat this bill.

Sincerely,

Lisa Murowski's office basically refused to talk to me, refused to listen to what I had to say and told me that they would not disclose how she was going to vote but that she is currently undecided.

I got through to Collings on phone and sent faxes to the others. I also called my Senator, Senator Thune and encouraged him to fillibuster. I figured it doesn't hurt to call your own Republican Senators and let them know you are on their side.

I just tried to call Sen. Voinovich, and I got the voice mail system. It's asking to input his number, and I don't know it. (just using his phone # doesn't work). Anybody know how to get past this?

I line in Sen Martinez's district and I have called him at least 5 times in the last two weeks, I also have sent emails. I know of several others who have done the same. The problem is he has decided he will not run for re-election so he really can do whatever he wants without fear of the voters. I hate to think this but is he for sale?

Go to senate.gov, select your state, and your Senators' email addresses are there. I've been emailing our Senators at least 3-4 times a week the past 2 plus weeks.
